Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Our Thing LLC ("Our Thing," "Company," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the ARC mobile application and related features, services, subscriptions, updates, and content, collectively referred to as the "App" or "ARC."

Overview

ARC is designed as a privacy-first self-improvement, habit tracking, discipline, goal tracking, and personal progress app.

The core principle of ARC is simple:

We do not collect, store, sell, or share your personal ARC app data on our own servers. Your ARC data is stored locally on your device and/or in your personal Apple iCloud account, depending on your device settings and how the App is configured.

By using ARC, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, do not use the App.

1. SUMMARY

  2. We do not operate ARC user accounts.
  3. We do not collect your personal habit data.
  4. We do not collect your personal goal data.
  5. We do not collect your notes, reflections, check-ins, streaks, routines, or progress history.

Some data may still be processed by Apple, your device, the App Store, iCloud, or your operating system as part of normal app distribution, purchases, subscriptions, diagnostics, crash reporting, iCloud sync, or device functionality. That processing is governed by Apple's own terms and privacy policies.

7. ICLOUD SYNC

If ARC uses iCloud sync, your ARC Data may sync through your personal iCloud account.

iCloud sync may allow your ARC Data to appear on multiple devices connected to the same Apple ID.

Our Thing LLC does not control iCloud and cannot guarantee that iCloud sync will always be available, accurate, complete, immediate, or error-free.

ARC may store data locally on your device.

Local data may be deleted or affected if:

  1. You delete the App.
  2. You reset your device.

10. SUPPORT EMAILS

If you contact us at contact@useourthing.com, we may receive the information you choose to provide in your email.

This may include:

  1. Your email address.

  3. The content of your message.
  4. Screenshots or attachments you choose to send.
  5. Device or app information you choose to include.
  6. Any other information you voluntarily provide.

We use support emails only to respond to your request, troubleshoot issues, improve ARC, enforce our Terms, or comply with legal obligations.

Please do not send sensitive personal information through support email unless it is necessary for your request.

If you send us screenshots or descriptions containing your ARC Data, we will process that information only because you voluntarily sent it to us for support.

11. ANALYTICS, TRACKING, AND ADVERTISING

ARC is intended to function without Our Thing LLC collecting personal ARC Data.

ARC does not use your personal ARC Data for advertising and does not sell your data.

ARC does not track you across third-party apps or websites for advertising purposes.

We use PostHog for functional analytics to understand general feature usage, app flows, and product performance so we can improve ARC.

When you use ARC, we may collect anonymous or aggregated usage data such as screens viewed, app functionality used, and purchase-related events through our functional analytics tools.

We may also collect anonymous device information such as device manufacturer, operating system, and internet connection type.

We may also collect general location data derived from your device or network, such as your region, country, and timezone, but not your precise location.

These analytics are intended to be truly anonymous. We do not use PostHog to identify or track individual users, and we do not send names, email addresses, precise location data, or the contents of your habits, goals, notes, reflections, or other personal ARC Data to PostHog for analytics.

12. CRASH REPORTS AND DIAGNOSTICS

Apple may provide developers with crash reports, diagnostics, or performance information, depending on your Apple device settings and Apple's policies.

Crash reports and diagnostics may help us identify bugs, improve performance, and make ARC more stable.

We use Firebase Crashlytics, a service provided by Google, to monitor app stability and investigate crashes. When crash reporting is enabled, Crashlytics may collect technical information about a crash or app failure so we can diagnose and fix the issue.

Crash diagnostics are used only for stability, debugging, and performance improvement. They are not used for advertising or profiling individual users.

Depending on Apple's systems and your settings, diagnostics may include technical information such as:

  1. Device model.
  2. Operating system version.
  3. App version.
  4. Crash logs.
  5. Performance data.
  6. Error information.
  7. General technical context.

We do not use crash reports or diagnostics to identify your personal habits, goals, notes, reflections, or progress entries.

You can manage certain analytics and diagnostic sharing settings through your Apple device settings.

13. NOTIFICATIONS AND REMINDERS

ARC may allow you to create reminders or receive notifications.

Notifications are controlled by your device and operating system settings.

ARC may store reminder preferences locally and/or through iCloud so the App can provide reminder functionality.

Our Thing LLC does not use your reminders to track you or advertise to you.

You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings.

14. HEALTH, FITNESS, AND WELLNESS DATA

ARC is a self-improvement and habit tracking app. You may choose to enter information related to health, fitness, sleep, wellness, mood, routines, productivity, or personal development.

Our Thing LLC does not intentionally collect this information on our own servers.

Any such information you enter into ARC is stored locally on your device and/or in your personal iCloud account, depending on your settings and how ARC is configured.

ARC is not a medical app, healthcare provider, mental health service, therapy service, or emergency service.

Do not use ARC as a substitute for professional medical, psychological, fitness, legal, financial, or other professional advice.

15. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

ARC is not intended for children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Because ARC does not require an account and does not intentionally collect ARC Data on our servers, we generally do not know the age of users.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has contacted us or provided personal information to us through support email, you may contact us at contact@useourthing.com and request deletion of that information.

16. DATA SHARING

Our Thing LLC does not sell your personal data.

Our Thing LLC does not share your personal ARC Data with advertisers.

Because we do not collect your ARC Data on our own servers, we do not share your habits, goals, notes, reflections, streaks, routines, or progress entries with third parties.

We may share limited information only in the following situations:

  1. With service providers who help us respond to support requests, operate business systems, provide anonymous functional analytics, or process crash diagnostics, such as PostHog and Firebase Crashlytics.
  2. With Apple or through Apple systems for purchases, subscriptions, App Store functionality, iCloud, diagnostics, or app distribution.
  3. If required by law, regulation, legal process, court order, or governmental request.
  4. To protect the rights, safety, property, or security of Our Thing LLC, users, Apple, or others.
  5. In connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, financing, or transfer of business, subject to appropriate safeguards.
  6. With your consent or at your direction.

We do not sell personal information as the term "sell" is commonly understood.

17. DATA RETENTION

Because your ARC Data is stored locally and/or in your personal iCloud account, retention of ARC Data is controlled by you, your device settings, your iCloud settings, your Apple ID, and Apple's systems.

Our Thing LLC generally cannot delete, access, or control ARC Data stored on your device or in your iCloud account.

Support emails may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, maintain business records, resolve disputes, improve support, prevent abuse, or comply with legal obligations.

Purchase-related records may be retained by Apple and may be available to us in limited form as necessary to validate purchases, restore purchases, prevent fraud, provide paid features, or comply with legal and accounting requirements.

18. DATA DELETION

To delete ARC Data stored locally, you may delete data inside the App and delete the App from your device.

To delete ARC Data stored in iCloud, you may need to manage data through your Apple device settings, iCloud settings, Apple ID settings, or other Apple-provided tools.

Because Our Thing LLC does not store your ARC Data on its own servers, we generally cannot delete it for you.

To delete support emails or personal information you voluntarily sent to us, contact contact@useourthing.com. We will make reasonable efforts to delete or anonymize such information unless we need to retain it for legal, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legitimate business reasons.

19. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

Depending on where you live, you may have privacy rights under applicable laws.

These rights may include the right to:

  1. Request access to personal information we have about you.
  2. Request correction of personal information.
  3. Request deletion of personal information.
  4. Object to or restrict certain processing.
  5. Request a copy of personal information.
  6. Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  7. Lodge a complaint with a privacy authority.

Because Our Thing LLC does not maintain ARC user accounts and does not intentionally collect ARC Data on our servers, we may not have personal ARC Data to provide, correct, or delete.

If you contact us with a privacy request, we may need enough information to verify and process your request, such as the email address you used to contact support.

You can contact us at contact@useourthing.com.

20. EUROPEAN ECONOMIC AREA, UNITED KINGDOM, AND INTERNATIONAL USERS

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or another region with data protection laws, you may have additional privacy rights.

Where applicable, Our Thing LLC acts as the controller only for limited personal information that we actually receive, such as support emails or limited purchase-related information.

For ARC Data stored on your device or in your personal iCloud account, Apple, your device, and your own settings play the primary role in storage and control.

Legal bases for processing limited information may include:

  1. Performance of a contract, such as providing the App or responding to support requests.
  2. Legitimate interests, such as improving ARC, preventing fraud, securing our business, or responding to users.
  3. Compliance with legal obligations.
  4. Consent, where required and obtained.

Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. These countries may have privacy laws different from those in your country.

21. CALIFORNIA AND UNITED STATES STATE PRIVACY RIGHTS

Depending on your U.S. state of residence, you may have rights regarding personal information.

Our Thing LLC does not sell your personal information and does not knowingly share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Because ARC does not require an account and does not intentionally collect ARC Data on our servers, we may not have personal ARC Data associated with you.

You may contact us at contact@useourthing.com to make a privacy request regarding information you have directly provided to us, such as support emails.

22. SECURITY

We design ARC with privacy and data minimization in mind.

However, no app, device, operating system, cloud service, or method of electronic storage is completely secure.

Because ARC Data is stored locally and/or through iCloud, the security of your ARC Data depends in part on:

  1. Your device security.
  2. Your Apple ID security.
  3. Your iCloud settings.
  4. Your password and authentication settings.
  5. Your device backups.
  6. Apple's security practices.
  7. Your operating system settings.
  8. Your own handling of your device and account.

We recommend that you use strong device passcodes, secure Apple ID credentials, two-factor authentication, and up-to-date operating system software.

23. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

If you contact us for support or otherwise provide information to us, that information may be processed in the United States or other countries.

By contacting us or using ARC, you understand that information may be processed outside your country of residence, subject to applicable law.

24. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES

ARC may link to or interact with third-party services, including Apple, iCloud, the App Store, subscription systems, websites, or support tools.

Third-party services are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices, security, accuracy, or content of third-party services.

25. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

If we make material changes, we may notify you through the App, the App Store listing, our website, or other reasonable means.

The updated Privacy Policy becomes effective when posted or made available, unless a later effective date is stated.

Your continued use of ARC after the updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you acknowledge the updated Privacy Policy.
